social media marketing

Social media is a collection of online communication channels dedicated to input, interaction, content sharing, and community-based collaboration. Websites and applications dedicated to forums, microblogging, social networking, social bookmarking, social curation, and wikis are different types of social media.

Here are some prominent examples of social media:

Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and videos, send messages and stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues.
Twitter is a free microblogging service that allows registered members to broadcast short posts called tweets. Twitter members can broadcast tweets and follow other users’ tweets using various platforms and devices.
Google+ (pronounced Google plus) is a Google social networking project, designed to mimic the way people interact offline more closely than what happens to other social networking services. This website is no longer offered to new users and plans to close the remaining accounts in 2019.
Wikipedia is an online free open content encyclopedia created through collaborative efforts from a community of users known as Wikipedians. Anyone registered on this site can create articles for publication; However, registration is not required to edit articles. Wikipedia was founded in January 2001.
LinkedIn is a social networking site specifically designed for the business community. The purpose of this site is to allow registered members to build and document networks of people they know and trust professionally.
Reddit is a website and social news forum where stories are curated socially and promoted by site members. This site consists of hundreds of sub-communities, known as “subreddits.” Each subreddit has certain topics such as technology, politics or music. Members of the Reddit site, also known as, “the redditor,” send content that is then chosen by other members. The aim is to send stories that are considered good to the top of the site’s thread page.
Pinterest is a social curation website for sharing and grouping images found online. Pinterest needs a short description but the main focus of this site is visual. Clicking on the image will take you to the original source. For example, clicking on a picture of a pair of shoes can direct users to the purchase site and a picture of blueberry pancakes might lead to a recipe.

Social media business application
Social media is an integral part of online life when websites and social applications multiply. Most traditional online media platforms include social components, such as comment fields for users. In business, social media is used to market products, promote brands, connect with current customers and grow new businesses.

Social media analysis is the practice of collecting data from blogs and social media sites and analyzing that data to make business decisions. The most common use of social media analytics is to mine customer sentiment to support marketing and customer service activities.
Social Media Marketing (SMM) utilizes social networking to help companies increase brand exposure and expand customer reach. The goal is usually to create content that is quite interesting so that users will share it with their social networks. One key component of Social Media Marketing (SMM) is social media optimization (SMO). Like search engine optimization or search engine optimization (SEO), search engine optimization (SMO) is a strategy to attract new and unique visitors to the website. Search engine optimization (SMO) can be done in two ways: by adding social media links to content such as RSS feeds and sharing buttons, or by promoting activities through social media through status updates, tweets, or blog posts.

Social CRM (customer relationship marketing) can be a very powerful business tool. For example, creating a Facebook page allows people who like your brand and how you do business to like your page, which creates a place for communication, marketing and networking. Through social media sites, you can follow conversations about your brand for market data and real-time feedback.
In terms of feedback, social media makes it easy to tell companies and others about their experiences with the company, whether the experience is good or bad. This business can also respond very quickly to both positive and negative feedback, pay attention to customer problems and maintain, regain or rebuild customer trust.

Corporate social networking allows companies to connect individuals who have similar interests or business activities. Internally, social tools can help employees access the information and resources they need to work together effectively and solve business problems. Externally, public social media platforms help organizations stay close to their customers and make it easier to conduct research that they can use to improve business processes and operations.
Social media is also often used for crowdsourcing. Customers can use social networking sites to offer ideas for future products or adapt to current ones. In IT projects, crowdsourcing usually involves the involvement and mixing of IT businesses and services from a mixture of internal and external providers, sometimes with input from customers and / or the general public.
On the other hand, social media integration in the business world can also pose challenges. Social media policies are designed to set expectations for appropriate behavior and ensure that employee positions will not cause the company legal problems or public humiliation. The policy includes directives when an employee must identify himself as a company representative on social networking sites, as well as rules for what type of information can be shared.
